Sargis Karavardanyan
Welcome! I am a PhD candidate in the political economy/public choice department at the University of California, Irvine. My broad research interests include political economy of contentious politics and regime change. More specifically, I examine why economic and political environments of some autocracies trigger mass mobilization of protesters which lead to a regime transition. My methodological research interests include game theory, econometrics, machine learning, and formal modeling. My primary regional focus is on the Global South including Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and South Caucasus.
